Estate Planning
As a Personal Family LawyerTM, Kevin specializes in personalized service for each and every Client. His approach is educational and proactive. He determines each client's individual needs and desires and tailors their plan to best accomplish their goals.
Not everyone needs to work with a Personal Family Lawyer, not does everyone qualify to do so. Surprisingly, whether you qualify to work with a Personal Family Lawyer or not has nothing at all to do with how much money you have!
Working with a Personal Family Lawyer is most beneficial for people who:
-
Want a trusted advisor to guide them through a lifetime of the right decisions.
-
Want to maximize the Family Wealth that is passed on to children, grandchildren and beyond. Not just financial assets, but intangible, often list Intellectual, Spiritual and Human assets as well.
-
Care about preserving family wealth by ensuring it doesn't leak out to strangers through divorce and lawsuits, unnecessary and avoidable estate taxes, or end up part of the $580 Million of unclaimed property held by the State of Maryland alone.
-
Are willing to follow a system and structure that prepares their children to receive family wealth in such a way that family opportunities are maximized and family wealth actually grows at each generation instead of being frittered away by unappreciative and undisciplined heirs.
-
Never want to risk their minor children would be taken out of their home if anything happened to them and instead want to guarantee their children would always stay in the care of people they know, trust, and love.
Unlike many law firms that take on an unlimited number of new clients, The Roy Law Firm strictly limits the number of new clients we see on an annual basis so that we can provide the attention your family deserves.
Our estate plan development process is designed to ensure your confidence at each step along the way from our first meeting through the delivery of your completed Family Wealth Portfolio and beyond. Every decision is reviewed with you multiple times and yet the entire process doesn't stretch out beyond 8 weeks. Also important to know is that within ONE MONTH after your first meeting with Kevin, your family could be totally protected.
An essential part of estate planning is keeping your plan up to date. An estate plan is a living document that changes as your assets change, as your family changes, and as the law changes. We help accommodate those changes, and we do all we can to makes sure that the changes are addressed by communicating with you regularly, by being available to review your plan at least every three years (at no additional charge), and by keeping you informed so you can make the best possible decisions for your family during your lifetime. We want you to have the peace of mind of knowing that we will be here for the people you love most in the event of your incapacity or death.
If this sounds like the kind of relationship you are looking for, please contact The Roy Law Firm so we can schedule time for you to meet with Kevin and learn more about how your family can be prepared and protected.
